Ilene's runaway ox cart / School Kits to orphanage

      Incident in an Ox Cart

We had just finished harvesting rice and were going back to the van.  All the girls got in the ox cart so they wouldn't have to walk the mile and a half.  The cart driver is deaf.  They went over a big bump and as girls will do they got screaming so he stopped the cart to let those who wanted too to get out.  Well Sister Thalman was half way out and he took off.  Sister Sok tried to help her out, but they just took off.  At least she stayed in the cart and didn't fall out on the way acrossed the field.  Sister Neora is in the cart behind Sister Thalman screaming her head off.  Like a good husband I knew I could not outrun the cows so I just kept videoing.  Everyone came through it unscathed thank goodness.

All of the bags in the bags.  We had nearly 130 kits with note books, ruler, pencils, colored pencils, sharpener erasers etc..

Elder Thalman and 2 new buddies.  The Kid on my left has some mental issues and could not figure out how to hold up two fingers.  Such a cute lovable kid
Members who helped with the project
Members  They had sooo much fun doing this and there was a great spirit there

In the van on the way home after the project.  It took two trips to get us all to the orphanage and I told Lim our driver that his van was not even close to being loaded like the good taxi drivers do.  Well we put eveyone of us in the van.  We had 21 and they sang jingle bells all the way home.  Pretty interesting in a Khmer accent.  These are such great kids and they had soooo much fun.  We will try to do it again at another orphanage or school.
